Update the installed armslength app

The installed program (called bridge) updates only when you tell it to. Run bridge update when you choose: it installs only signed releases and tells you the signature was verified. Nothing updates in the background. Tested on Mac and Windows; Linux not tested yet.

The steps

  1. Open a terminal. On Windows, press Start and type PowerShell. On a Mac, press Cmd and Space together and type Terminal.
  2. See whether there is a newer release (this changes nothing):
    bridge update --check
  3. Update:
    bridge update
  4. Read the answer. It says either Updated armslength with the old and new version, or that you are already up to date, and then signature verified.

If it refuses, or you do not see signature verified, stop and use the Help button. Do not download the program from anywhere else.

Checking it yourself

Every release is checked against signed checksums published on two separate sites. The second copy is on our releases page.
